I personally have taken steps to bring this mission to life through activities including curating an exhibition on Japanese internment camps with the help of the Wing Luke Museum in support of our Cornish First Reads book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. I also participated in the online workshop Cultural Competence for the Academic Librarian as well as attended the Storytelling Strategies for Dismantling Racism training and am active in my college's Faculty Interest Group Race & Pedagogy. I believe that everyone has the right to a happy and healthy life and I strive to support this in the library, in the classroom and in my everyday life.
